Filing with the CPSC is now required.

Since July 8, importers of regulated consumer products have to send their certificate information to the CPSC electronically. Building that yourself is a project. Here it's a setting.

A filing never fails quietly. If the CPSC doesn't accept something, the shipment says so in plain words, with the reason.

Your certificate details are filed with the CPSC, and the reference numbers that come back are quoted by your customs broker when your goods arrive.
